December 2025
Our community outreach this month includes donations to a good number of organizations, who make a special effort to enable their clients to enjoy a special Christmas blessing.
Our community donated gifts to Response to Love Center, thanks to the efforts of Pam Lawless and her family. Over 40 gifts were donated by our Newman Community. Sister Johnice wrote a thoughtful "Thank you" note to the JNMC.
Monetary donations in excess of $9,000 were made to the following:
- Be A Blessing Buffalo
- Hearts for the Homeless
- P.A.T.H.
- Family Promise of WNY
- Friends of Night People
- Harvest House
- Little Portion Friary
- WNY Foster Closet
- Respite for Women -- requested by Father Jim
- Perinatal Bereavement Network -- requested by Father "Duke"
- St. Mary's of the Assumption Outreach -- requested by Father Paul
Christmas Eve Liturgy
Our liturgy this year was celebrated by Father Jim. Thanks to Mary DeWald, the largest procession of young children made our "living Nativity" so very special. Vocal solos from young performers filled our hearts with their special voices. Thank you to Georgia Zorich and Pela Zack.
Thank You -- Mary Lazickas, Board President
This marks the conclusion of the presidency of Mary Lazickas. Her term included 2024 and 2025.
As this year comes to a close, the JNMC thanks Mary Lazickas for her two years of serving as Board President. We thank her for coordinating with our priests and committees and the behind-the-scenes calls and texts to be sure all those people who need to make our worship possible know where to be and what needs to be done. This gets even more complex when special JNMC events are sprinkled into the calendar, and whenever the Meeting House has activities booked as well. We thank you for your smile and your sincere expressions of gratitude after each mass. Now, it is our turn to salute you, Mary, and to thank you for these past two years of service!
